If we were to draw up the ideal Northwest company, it might look a lot like high-tech company F5 Networks, a developer of application delivery networks. Let's see: A company culture emphasizing collaboration and teamwork? Check. An office with sweeping mountain-and-Sound views? Check. A $300 monthly transportation stipend, miles of covered bike parking, and on-site showers for cyclists to clean up before their workday? Check. Throw in microbrews on Fridays, free Starbucks coffee in the breakroom, fully subsidized health and dental insurance and up to $3,000 annual tuition assistance, and you've got a true Seattle company on your hands. No wonder employees can't imagine working anywhere else. One worker sums it up very succinctly: "Good pay, great training, Beer Friday, very little BS. What more could I want?"
