Small company
Most family-friendly company

Mulberry Street Market Intelligence

When employees of Mulberry Street Market Intelligence voted for their company in the family-friendly category, they cast their votes with very personal stories of ways that this small Gig Harbor firm has helped them through tough times.

One staffer told of how she was given extra time off and even money out the owners' own pockets to go and visit her father who had been hospitalized. Another employee recounted how one of the owners rescued a note from a rain puddle that had been written by a 3-year-old to her parent who worked there, carefully dried it off, and returned it to its owner.

Mulberry Street employees say that co-owner Mark Sullivan, a single father himself, "totally gets it." If a child is sick, you stay home to take care of them. No calling in sick, no need to apologize. "Kids and family first, ALWAYS," one voter told us, "and they mean it."

Editor's pick

This CPA firm with offices in Bellevue (and based in Spokane) crunched the numbers and realized happy employees need work-life balance. The company subsidizes spouse and dependent health insurance and covers life and disability insurance for all employees. It also offers flexible schedules and fun family activities. As one employee said: "When my boss told me to put my personal commitments on my calendar BEFORE my work commitments, I knew I was home."
