Center for Human Services

For the folks who work at Snohomish County's Center for Human Services, the perks, rewards, incentives and benefits of their jobs come from the people they are helping and the support they get from one another.

The private nonprofit agency covers the gamut, offering assistance to clients dealing with substance abuse, disabilities, mental health, aging issues, marriage issues, veterans' affairs, homelessness, early childhood education and domestic violence.

As a social service coming under increasing threat of budget cuts, they are constantly being asked to "do more with less," as one employee says, but the fact that they continue to see results from their efforts, despite all their challenges, gives them the inspiration to keep on loving what they do.

Employees here are proud that they work for an organization that strives to live up to the values it promotes, and to work in an environment where compassion just comes naturally. According to one staffer, the CHS employees are "the most patient and kind-hearted people I have ever met."
