Murphy & Associates

Ray Murphy founded the consulting firm Murphy & Associates with his wife Donna in 1980 to create a better staffing agency that was open and honest in a way that they found lacking in the industry. Today the firm is run by their two sons, Erik and Joel Murphy, who have made it their mission to uphold the concept of integrity the company was founded on.

Contractors for the Kirkland-based firm say they feel like they're part of the Murphy clan, despite the fact that they're spread out all over the Puget Sound area. They appreciate that the brothers hand-deliver paychecks to them wherever they are, just to check in and catch up on how they're doing. They hold holiday parties that bring everyone together, and contractors even find themselves participating in family traditions like the annual Murphy picnic, the Murphy Family Olympics and Murphy childhood games like "Spit the Pit." If you feel comfortable enough around your co-workers to compete in a prune-spitting relay race, it's probably safe to say you're indeed part of the family.
