Premera supports community charities such as the March of Dimes.
People feel stable and secure at Premera's headquarters in Mountlake Terrace, where they say they have a career doing work they can be proud of -- and be respected for, by both their clients and their bosses. They can work from home, hours are flexible and, of course, they've got great health benefits. They like the location and scenery of the campus. It's especially great for residents of Snohomish County who get to avoid the murderous commute into Seattle. They tell us the campus is pleasant, close to amenities, has good cafeteria food and even boasts a small duck pond one staffer dubbed "Lake Premera." The health care behemoth's presence in the community of Snohomish County was a laudable point for many as well, with frequent projects for local charities like United Way and March of Dimes. A favorite was the "Kiss a Pig" event for the American Diabetes Association. Staffers voted on which company executive had to -- yes -- kiss a pig, to thank the animal for its historical contributions to diabetes research. Now that's a soooeeey-t job.
