F5's location offers employees a majestic view that includes the Olympics.
It's not exactly what's inside the office of F5 Networks, but what's outside that counts in the high-tech company's honors for coolest office space. The building on Elliott Avenue at the bottom of Queen Anne Hill has a view that knocks employees out each day they come to work: Elliott Bay, Puget Sound, Alki Point, the Olympic Mountains, the Space Needle and Mount Rainier spread out before them in a jaw-dropping vista and keep them company in their cubicles all day long. Staffers are only a few minutes' walk from the Olympic Sculpture Park, where many go to enjoy their lunch, have a stroll or take a lunchtime run through Myrtle Edwards Park and back. A new office currently under construction to accommodate the company's expansion will offer the same views, as it's just next door. Plans for the new space include a health club, too, which will give workers more to love inside the building as well.
The Wexley School for Girls ad agency boasts a putt-putt golf course and an avocado-green RV inside the office (yes -- you read that right). Themed rooms include Merlin, Chinese takeout and the White room. Also notable is Catalysis -- a marketing firm housed in a renovated church on Capitol Hill. The enormous vaulted ceilings and stained-glass windows make working there... well, um... a religious experience.
