Zillow has created a huge buzz since its launch in 2006 with its online real estate valuations, and its employees are thrilled to be part of a technology company that is having a strong (and controversial) impact on a major industry that hasn't seen much change in a long time. It's "a great business model that changes the power dynamics in an industry ripe for consumer empowerment," says one staffer. And employees don't seem to be worried about a start-up bust, either. They're reassured by the fact that their leadership team has a history of success (it's run by the founders of Expedia.com) and that they have a solid vision for the future. "Zillow has become a 'house'-hold name," one worker quips. "Have you Zillowed your house?"
Folks at Goose Networks are proud of their company's mission to help solve Seattle's traffic problems by helping people get to work via its "real-time ridesharing service" (if you cross the lake every day, you might consider them saints). Triphub.com employees raved about the dedicated, smart co-workers who are building cool trip-planning tools for travelers.
