MulvannyG2 employees participate in charity events such as Team Survivor Northwest's Dragon Boat Festival.
In some ways, MulvannyG2 is like a lot of other architecture firms -- long hours and hard work combined with good pay and a beautifully designed office. But MulvannyG2, the Bellevue-based firm responsible for Costco, Target and Redmond City Hall, has a few special attributes that set it apart and make it a favorite company to work for. Part of it is the diversity. More than half of the 500-person staff are women or minorities, which is rare in a field typically crowded with white males. Another point is the teamwork. One employee pointed out that while the culture of many architecture firms provokes a lot of internal competition, MulvannyG2 fosters a spirit of working together for the company's greater good. Interns and younger staffers were particularly vocal about the professional development they find, from a formal mentoring program to the loads of help they have in getting their practice licenses. Fun happenings like Halloween decorating contests and charity events also win praises, but other firms take note: The biggest way to win hearts and minds is by providing free breakfast on Fridays.
