NWclassifieds | jobs FAQ
How
do I browse the newspaper listings?
Scroll down on the home page of NWclassifieds | jobs and click on "Job listings by category". An index page of all of the newspaper
classifications, including A-Z, part-time and specialized classifications
such as high-tech are listed. Click on the classification to
be taken to that classification. The listings will be sorted
in the same manner that they appear in the paper.
Why
is only a portion of the listing shown?
The employment listings vary in the quantity and the quality
of data within each ad. For many job seekers, the first
couple lines of an ad provide enough information to determine
whether the position is of interest to them. With the quantity
of ads now available online, displaying just the first few lines
of each ad improves download time.
Why
am I limited to only 20 listings to a page?
We heard from many users that the time that it took to download
the search results of the previous employment classifieds was
tedious and often couldn't be done efficiently. Limiting the
number of listings on the page to 20 reduces the download
time. NOTE: the advanced search page now offers the ability to change the default results to a higher value.
How do I search only print listings?
If you want to search only the print listings, select "Classified Ads" from
the Company drop-down list in the search criteria. This will
search only the print classified listings.
If you
have a question about a specific ad, it is best to contact our
Classified Ad department.
To make
corrections to a current ad, please call us directly at: (206)
624-7355.
To cancel
an ad, please call: (206) 652-7355. We do not guarantee cancellations
or corrections sent via e-mail or voice mail.

NWclassifieds Alerts and Saved Searches FAQ
Why would I want to save a search?
Saving a search allows you to create specific search parameters once without having to re-create them again and again every time you want to run the same search.
How do I save a search?
You can save a search that you've already created by clicking on the "Save this search" button at the top of your search results page.
You can also click on "Saved Searches" from the left hand navigation within any section to go directly into your saved search manager area.
You must log in to your Seattle Times account or create a new account to save searches and receive e-mail alerts.
Can I get results automatically e-mailed to my home or office?
Yes, you can choose to receive your results daily or weekly (on Sundays).
You can set the e-mail frequency (none, daily, weekly) for each search agent when you save your search.
How many searches can I save?
You can save up to 5 searches in Autos and Jobs. In Real Estate and Rentals, you can save up to searches. All other categories are grouped together in the General Classifieds where you can save up to 10 searches.
Why am I not receiving my e-mail alerts?
You should receive daily e-mails every morning. Weekly e-mails are sent on Sunday mornings, when NWclassifieds has the most listings on the Web site and can provide you with the best chance to find what you're looking for. Even if you have email alerts set up to be sent on a regular basis you may not receive email alerts if the criteria you have selected does not match anything in our database.
Please log in to your account to check the e-mail frequency that you've assigned to each saved search. If you do indeed have your e-mail frequency set for daily or weekly (Sunday), and you are not receiving alerts at that interval, then e-mail webmaster@nwclassifieds.com with your specific issue.
How can I stop receiving e-mails for my saved searches?
Log in to the Saved Searches page within the category you're interested in. From there, you can delete your saved searches or edit the saved search and change the frequency to "Don't send e-mail" to stop receiving e-mails.
What
are "My Favorites"?
Favorites are particular listings in our database that you want to save. You now must log in or create an account to use this feature. All of our inventory is dynamic, subject to prior sale and will be removed from your favorites when the ad is removed from our database.
How
come I lost some of "My Favorites" when I came back to the site?
Listings change day-to-day and if a listing is pulled from our site, it will also be pulled from your favorites area.
